While the servo system is used for the applications on the spindle of machine tool, after the spindle speed is well-adjusted and the forward & reverse function is completed, it can provide cutting function which is often required by the numerous industrial processes. When the functions of the thread processing, positioning or acceleration is required for the cutting operation, the spindle will operate in accordance with the different requirements and offer different kinds of position control functions. In any case, the servo system will request the spindle to operate with the feeding control system, output more power, move in constant speed and stop at constant position to complete the control of the machine tool and provide a solution for industrial automation. Like servo system, the development of the spindle is also changed from general three-phase asynchronous motor to AC servo motor. In the course of the technology improvement of microprocessor and large-power transistor, the automation industries have entered the age of AC servo control system.
The spindle of AC servo system are divided into three types, AC asynchronous servo motor, AC synchronous servo motor and electric servo motor. Comparing with the AC asynchronous servo motor that adopts vector control, the AC synchronous servo motor provides lower rotor temperature, less influence on the temperature of machine tool, and can be able to output constant torque under low speed, particularly being suitable for the tough cutting processes. In the meantime, because the level of the responsiveness of the AC synchronous servo motor is high, it is very good in-use for the high-efficient production processes as well. In addition, it can easily reach high adjustable speed ratio and allow a machine tool to own many kinds of abilities of processing and manufacturing. The above features create the most favorable cutting conditions for the spindle of the machine tool.
The recently launched Delta ASDA-A+ series servo products not only offer large power output from 3kW to 7.5kW (high torque output from 19.1 N-M to 47.74 N-M), but also feature built-in high-resolution 20bit incremental encoder, which is perfectly suitable for high-precise control applications needed in various machine tool industries.
