Apart from the basic control mode (accept pulse and analog voltage command), ASDA-A2 series provides a new type of control mode - "Internal Position Procedure Mode” (PR mode) to complete ASDA-A2 series to approach the level of the motion controller. It also has built-in 800 points position array so as to provide a flexible path planning and be free to change the destination and the speed between different paths. In addition, the built-in E-CAM and resonance suppression functions offer different tuning methods for a wide range of applications. From ASDA-A2 series, we can see that Delta substantially enhances the performance of the servo drive from the basic “motor-driven” function to the advanced “motion control” function.

In terms of the communications functions, ASDA-A2 series not only supports standard Modbus protocol, but also supports CANopen communication. The network model, ASDA-A2-M series provides CANopen interface and is able to be operated with the communication module of Delta's DVP-28SV series and the added DVP-20PM series PLC with CANopen interface. The communication speed of ASDA-A2-M series is maximum 1M bps, and it can be also connected to the communication card or other brands of PLC with CANopen interface. In the past, when using a Japanese brand of servo drive, the users have to adopt the specified communication specifications. But now, there is no such limit if the users use Delta's ASDA-A2 series. Delta's ASDA-A2 series supports a variety of communication methods, offers a new direction for planning the communication network structure, and will certainly impact on Taiwan 's industrial automation market.

Following the advantages of ASDA-A and ASDA-AB series, Delta also launched ASDA-A+ series for the equipment requiring high power and high torque output (such as all-electric injection molding machine, large-scale machine tools, metallurgical industries , and packaging industries, etc.). ASDA-A+ series offers medium and high inertia models from 3kW to 7.5kW, which all have high resolution, incremental type 20-bit encoders. In addition, the max. input pulse frequency of line driver command is 4M bps, which perfectly meests the demanding customer applications. Now, Delta's ASDA-A+ series has been sold and applied successfully on the applications of spring machine, tube bending machine, and presses machine.
